“You don’t win by reducing your marketing (copy) to appeal to large numbers of fundamentally uninterested people

Let’s make sure we’re talking to:

Highly interested

Highly motivated

Very appropriate prospects for what it is that we have to offer

Who will a high level of interest the minute we show them ourselves

Therefore, because they have a high level of interest

Will read a lot

Listen to a lot

Watch a lot

So we can do a decent job of selling to them instead of trying to reduce every thing we do to 146 character tweets and no email longer than 3.8 minutes and no sales letter with words of more than 2 syllables so that everybody can pay attention to it, but what good is that?!”

  1. Very interesting analysis of the Internet by Dan Kennedy. I especially liked his concern about intellectual rights and difficulty in holding onto a customer entirely online. Thanks Alesha.

  2. Great interview. Dan shared some interesting aspects and I liked what he said. When things get dumbed down to the lowest comom denominator they stop working. Going to do longer emails in the future!

    1. Right on Ann, this is what I loved about what he said too. When our message is in front of the right people, they will watch, they will listen and they well read no matter how long it is.
