So how on earth do we build intrinsic value?

We build intrinsic value through building our position in the market place.

So in terms of the online world we work and network with people – helping and serving people with a solution to their problem.

We want to draw people to us through our positioning.

People want to feel a part of something – a movement, a community, something bigger than themselves – popular.

We want to feel exclusive, significant and important.

 

Here are some great examples of positioning:

Different

Unique

Original

Exciting

Inspiring

Strong

Mysterious

Forbidden

In a nutshell people want what is rare, what they think they can’t have and want to connect and relate to similar people.

These are just some examples to give you some ideas, you can choose what works for you – test some of these out!

Constantly giving value and knowledge to your target marketplace is essential.

 

There is a stepping stone of positioning levels through which the higher you are the more you will be getting paid most likely.

  1. Generalist
  2. Specialist
  3. Authority
  4. Celebrity
  5. Celebrity Authority

Let me explain this in very simple terms.

In a field of expertise if you are general at that particular skill, you are not going to get paid as much as the person with the specialist skill.

The specialist is not going to be paid as much as the specialist with authority in that skill.

The authority is not going to be paid as much as the celebrity in that field.

The top of the chain here is the authority celebrity, generally speaking this person is going to be paid more than anyone else in that field of expertise because they have positioned themselves above their competition.

 

Make sense?

 

So an example of a celebrity authority would be Madonna – my lifetime inspirational freedom fighter.

Madonna has positioned herself for over three decades heads and shoulders above her competition to the point where she is able to make money almost out of thin air whenever she feels like it.

She has grown a loyal following over three decades and attracts certain target markets through her music, message and what she believes in – human rights of freedom.

Madonna positioned herself in places no one even dared talk about.

There is no other position in any market place that is more magnetic to money than a person of celebrity authority.

 

How do we create and implement our own positioning?

 

There are a few basic aspects to this:

What do you stand for in life?

What do you stand against in life?

What is your true identity?

What is unique about your identity?

 

You need to establish these basic elements about yourself in order to attract your target market place to you, then the value that they need in order for them to relate and connect with you, in turn doing business with you.
